We combine approaches from over 50 years’ experience in Fire, Police, and Military Counterintelligence to dissect potential and existing issues, then provide custom responses and solutions based on your unique circumstances.
Everyone who contacts us is carrying a different concern. Some have had an incident, others have an insurance review coming up, and some simply have a sense that something about their security does not hold up. Before we recommend anything, we take the time to understand your situation, including the property, the people who work in it, the history, and what is actually prompting the call.

We work with independent pharmacies managing controlled substances, dispensaries operating under heavy regulation, property managers carrying liability they cannot always see, and private communities where the people involved have specific concerns about their safety. Based in Colorado Springs, we work across the Front Range, from Pueblo to Fort Collins, and in Colorado’s mountain communities, including Summit County, Vail, Aspen, Steamboat Springs, and Grand Junction.

We started this firm because the people and organizations we saw carrying real risk deserved access to honest, independent expertise rather than a sales pitch disguised as an assessment.
Landon is a retired firefighter who last held the ranks of Captain and Acting Battalion Chief with Aurora Fire Rescue, where he served for over two decades. He also served as Deputy Fire Marshal and held special operations assignments in Technical Rescue. Before the fire service, Landon was a police officer. Over the course of his career he worked as a supervisor responsible for outcomes and personnel on critical emergency incidents involving more than 60 fire personnel and sometimes thousands of residents.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University, has supervised the Life Safety Division, including fire inspectors and investigators. He has made hundreds of critical, split second decisions which affected the lives and safety of many people, and has done so with positive outcomes - no on the job injuries, no civilian deaths.
James is a retired Police Officer with a professional background in United States Army Counterintelligence. His experience spans threat assessment, counterterrorism, protective intelligence, fraud investigation, and security operations. He applies military and law enforcement methodology to commercial and residential environments, drawing on training in threat identification, access control, and behavioral pattern recognition.
His military and law enforcement expertise complement the team’s security, threat assessment, and countermeasure capabilities, providing comprehensive coverage of the security and risk domains relevant to the clients Sentinel serves.
Our reports reflect what we actually observe, even when it is not what the client was hoping to hear. A report that validates everything you are already doing is not worth paying for. The value is in the honest assessment, and that is what we deliver.
What you tell us and what we observe in your operation is treated as confidential. We operate under binding confidentiality terms and carry professional liability insurance. Your vulnerabilities are not shared with anyone without your written consent.
Our goal is not for you to need us permanently. We want you to understand your risk environment well enough to manage it, which means we explain our reasoning and not just our conclusions. We would rather teach you to see the problem clearly than have you depend on us to see it for you.

We come on site, we look at everything, and we talk to the people who actually work there. We are looking for what is genuinely present in your specific operation, not checking boxes against a generic template.
What we assess varies depending on your business type and what you have told us concerns you. We do not arrive with a fixed lens. Common areas include physical controls, access procedures, staff protocols, surveillance coverage, fire and life safety, emergency access, and vulnerability patterns specific to your environment. We describe what we are assessing and why before we begin.
Many of the properties we work with sit in or near wildland areas, have limited road access, or are a long way from the nearest fire station. We assess wildfire exposure and emergency readiness, then build the plans your staff, residents, and guests need to respond to fire, medical emergencies, severe weather, and security incidents.
This work draws on our backgrounds in fire command, emergency medical response, and incident management. Where it makes sense, we coordinate with your local fire department and law enforcement so that your plan fits how they will actually respond.
